PasadoDocs a calm writing surface

Write with a tool that works really hard to keep your words yours.

A quiet, focused editor for writing — not word processing. The palette on the left, the page in the middle, and a running record that the writing is your own. AI integrations that seamlessly prevent the AI from actively editing your words: you use AI (if you choose) to help you — not replace you.

Free early beta — early adopters earn a lifetime free license, and if you get really engaged, maybe even a job that pays you ridiculously. We're doing Windows first purely by an accident of fate: I broke my MacBook screen, sent it out, and kept working on a Windows machine (stupid, right?). macOS & Linux soon. Register your email to get in — we'll send your download link the moment the Windows build is posted. Once it's installed, updates will land quietly when you close the app — we'll never rudely interrupt you or nag you to update. One thing we need to fix ASAP: the apps aren't code-signed yet, so on first launch Windows may warn you — choose More info → Run anyway.

One clean surface

Palette, page, and notes in one calm layout — no shiny things fighting for your attention, no rage building while you hunt for the tool you need. Everything a writer wants, at your fingertips. And if the tool isn't there? Tell me. I'll build it.

Your words, on the record

The engine keeps a running account of your writing and learns as you type. Need to paste something in? You can — but there's a record of it, and you can work it until it's yours. A stack of metrics grounded in physics and linguistic science builds what we call the Core; comparing your writing to it shows you what you need to make sure all your words are your own. And you can compare a passage against our AI cores to see if it reads AI-like — a similarity signal, never an accusation (in testing the cores tell AI from human about 94% of the time). Automatic flagging, and catching AI that's been retyped by hand, are coming next.

Math and logic on tap

For the science writers among us: the palette deck holds formatting, symbols, Greek letters, and logic — a keystroke away. Roll your mouse over anything and it shows you a description and the hotkey to reach it fast.
